Heavenly Cinnamon Bread
Ingredients
- 1 packet of dry yeastThis bread is so good, especially fresh out of the oven! We decided not to use raisins because we both do not like them, but if you want feel free to add them in! This recipe is very similar to our homemade wheat bread recipe, except we added in a few more ingredients (cinnamon, sugar, and, butter). So if you wanted to you could just make regular bread from this recipe, just take out the extra ingredients. You could even make cinnamon rolls out of this recipe, just add on some frosting and yum! Okay I'm getting carried away here..
Ingredients
-1 1/3 cup of warm water
-1/4 cup of vegetable oil
-1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
-3 1/2 cups of bread flour
-1/4 cup milk
-1 teaspoon salt
-4 tablespoons of unsalted melted butter
-cinnamon
-Sugar
In a bowl add in the yeast and warm water. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until the mixture gets foamy.
Next add in the vegetable oil, honey or maple syrup. Make sure you put the oil in first because then the honey or maple syrup will not stick in the measuring cup, it will slide right out!
Add in the flour, cinnamon, salt, and milk. Using a mixer would be easier, but a spoon and your clean hands work just as well!
Dough should be about double in size!
Knead the dough on a floured surface. Roll the dough out flat. Brush on the butter (save about a tablespoon of butter for the top of the bread) and sprinkle on the cinnamon and sugar. Roll the dough up and make sure it fits in the bread pan, if you don't have a bread pan a baking sheet will work fine too.
Again put a damp paper towel over the bread and let it sit for at least 30 minutes.
Take some of the melted butter and brush the top of the dough with it. Sprinkle on some more cinnamon and sugar. Bake in the oven for 40 minutes at 350 degrees. (I don't have a picture of the finished product, but you can imagine how good it looks!)
ENJOY!!
